Summary

Running plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 8.5 and Windows

In general all our plug-ins that worked with FileMaker 8 still work with FileMaker Pro 8.5 and Windows. See below for the details on specific plug-ins.

Running plug-ins with FileMaker Pro 8.5 and Mac OS X

FileMaker Pro 8.5 for Mac OS X is a Universal Application and can run natively on PowerPC and Intel Macintoshes. However, when FileMaker is launched on Intel Macs, it only loads Universal plug-ins. It does not load PowerPC plug-ins. Therefore all plug-ins need to be converted to Universal plug-ins. Troi has converted its main plug-ins to these Universal versions.
Note: In general all our plug-ins that worked with FileMaker 8 still work with FileMaker Pro 8.5 and PowerPC.

The same plug-in architecture

Note that the plug-in architecture has not changed in FileMaker 8.5. So there is no need to change any function calls when converting to FileMaker 8.5 (as compared to the change in plug-in architecture introduced in FileMaker Pro 7).

Here is an overview of all our plug-ins that are native and have been tested to work with FileMaker Pro 8.5 (and also FileMaker Pro 7 and 8). Note that this is based on preliminary test results.

Update to 8.5 considered

We are still considering an update for FileMaker 7 and 8.x for the following plug-in. Note that this plug-in should also run in FileMaker 7, 8 and 8.5 (Windows and PowerPC only):
