Alphen a/d Rijn, The Netherlands, October 28th, 2002--Troi Automatisering today announced the availability of the final version of the Troi URL Plug-in for FileMaker Pro 6. What is Troi URL Plug-in? Troi URL Plug-in can help you fill in forms on the Internet, all from FileMaker Pro. It also retrieves data from any HTTP URL. You can: use the POST command to fill in a web form and retrieve the result directly in FileMaker use the GET command to retrieve data use a secure connection (HTTPS) using SSL (currently Mac OS only) get access to password protected web pages encode text in to HTTP format. show a custom progress dialog during the retrieval (Mac OS only) Suggested Uses Troi URL plug-in allows you to: fill in forms on web sites or your intranet get online data like stock quotes, weather reports, etc. automatically add information to listings and online databases search the Internet for terms or other specific items (like in Sherlock) get the time of your city All these features also work in a runtime solution! New Features This 1.0 version has these new features: Added support for Proxy servers on Windows. New TURL-ToHTTP function, which can encode text in to HTTP format. You can now set a custom text for the name of the user agent the plug-in sends to a server, so the plug-in can pretend to be a specific browser. You can now customize the text and button of the progress dialog box (Mac OS only). On Mac OS and Mac OS X long operations now can be cancelled by pressing the Esc key or Command-Period. Changed the default timeout to 15 seconds. If there is no protocol at the beginning of an URL, the plug-in now adds "http://" before it. A few bugs have been fixed. Furthermore we have improved the examples and user guide, so you can get started more easily. This plug-in opens new possibilities to interact with the Internet in powerful ways. Troi URL Plug-in 1.0 works with FileMaker Pro 6 and FileMaker Pro 5.x. The plug-in is available for Mac OS 9.0.4 or later, including Mac OS X (10.1 or later), and for Windows 95/98/Me and NT/2000/XP. The plug-in should also run without problems on any machine that is able to run FileMaker Pro 4.0, FileMaker Pro 4.1 and runtimes from FileMaker Developer Edition 4.0, but we have not tested this.
